FIDES Bank Namibia is the only microfinance bank in Namibia; it received its license from Bank of Namibia in February 2010, after the Koshi Yomuti ELO pilot project successfully demonstrated that microfinance operations can sustainably be conducted in the region. Where we are With headquarters in Ongwediva, in the North-Central part of the country, FIDES Bank Namibia has operations in the four 'O' regions (that is Ohangwena, Omusati, Oshana and Oshikoto) and branches in Oshakati, Ondanwga and Oshikango. What we do FIDES Bank Namibia primarily works in rural areas of Northern Namibia, with working population traditionally excluded from the formal banking sector. Loans and savings products are proposed to clients of the bank through community-based solidarity groups. Parallel to this, the bank is developing an offer for MSME as well. Our main goal and objective The goal of FIDES Bank is to become the biggest bank of Namibia, not in terms of balance sheet but rather in terms of the number of clients. The objective is to have more than 20,000 loan clients and more than 40,000 Savings clients in 5 years. Information from website
