Kianjata Springs Campsite is a budget eco camp facility located in Nyahururu, Central Kenya.. Just about. three hours drive from Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. We offer spacious Camping grounds and cottage hostels in a cool and quiet environment for clients who enjoy adventure, conservation and sports. Located at a high altitude climatic region (2340 masl), Nyahururu is famous for athletes training for both national and international competition.
Kianjata, a local kikuyu name means a place of many stars. Kianjata Water springs. Resulted from a heavenly body that fell in this area many years ago and dug a big hole in the wetlands of Lake Olbolossat. This is a must see Amazing Site with blue sparkling water, for clients visiting to this area! Visit us and enjoy trekking to this site.
Our camp is within Kenya's 61st IBA (Important Bird Area) due to the presence of the globally endangered grasslands sharps long crow bird-species. About 33 bird species can be sited at the camp and Lake Ol Bolos sat wetlands.
Facilities at the hostel/camp consist of 6 African hut shaped ensuite cottages made of local materials, Double Decker Bus dormitory, Self catering kitchen, Dining hall, Meeting hall, spacious group camping sites, 4KM running/jogging track for athletic training, Several syndicates points around the camp site and a team building ground.
We offer local dishes for meals. You will be taught how to make local dishes by our friendly staff during your stay with us if you so wish.
Nearby attractions includes a visit to the famous Thomson falls, situated 6 KMs from our facility, watching hippos, visit to flower farms, local farms, Interactions with local community and a visit to Subukia escarpment.
Kianjata Springs Campsite is an overnight stop over for Tourists and Cyclists going to Aberdares mountains, Mt. Kenya, Rumuruti, Samburu Maralal, Nanyuki and Laikipia areas.
