Since it was founded in 2000 The Kipungani Schools Trust has built of 15 primary schools (with places for 12,000 children), a polytechnic, a school for the disabled and two Koran chanting rooms for the predominately Muslim communities along the coast of Kenya . The Trust now employs 34 teachers and fully sponsors 100 kids right through secondary school - and the KST is in the is in the throes of building a huge new polytechnic to give some of the vast majority of primary school children that don't go onto secondary school a chance to learn a trade. Every pound that's raised is sent to Kenya without deduction where it is carefully and effectively spent. And pounds go a very long way in Kenya; It costs just £200 to fully sponsor a pupil at secondary school for a year, and the KST builds primary schools for less than £70 a place! Relatively small sums go a very long way in Kenya
