SMEJAK Tree Promotion Development Group is a community based organization that was established to respond to a calling for sustainable livelihood in water, waste, and environmental management, poverty reduction and sustainable development at community level. This is by empowering the local community especially the women, youth, disabled persons and ex- convicts so as to ensure environmental protection and establishment of income generating activities through improved livelihood activities within the Lake Victoria basin.
 
SMEJAK is also taking Leadership to roll out 'Stewardship of Gods World' as a ministry. Man was put in the Garden of Eden to work it. Since God has given us seed bearing trees, why are Kenyans waiting for donors to grow trees. This should be a pulpit message and not a message through the scientists, if we are to experience transformation.
