Skylink innovator was founded in 2008, inspired by the need to provide the community with innovative intervention for managing social and environmental problems.
 
The need that spurred the birth of sky link was the levels of poverty in the community,the need for sustainable energy and the severe depletion of the environment that has made Kenya experience severe draughts. The draught has been costly to the government, private sector, SME's and households. "We felt the need to share with the community the benefits of Biogas we have enjoyed over the years, our home having been a beneficiary of GTZ biogas installation in the year 1984. This has been our drive, our lives were improved, our plan is to influence other people's lives too.
 
SLI has influenced the biogas market by improving the design structures for the bio digesters, and developing ew partnerships with companies that supply biogas equipment from Asia and Brazil so as o be their sole dealers/distributors in East Africa.
