Keen Kleeners is a Kenyan company established as a partnership in 1994 and incorporated as a private company in 2000. The organisation was first set up as a waste collection and disposal agent of the Mombasa Municipal Council {now City} with a restricted jurisdiction of operation. The company has now diversified into all areas of environment concern whose area of operation is the global village. Originally a small operation employing only 15 people with no clear roles and responsibilities, the organisation has grown to a staff force of over 450 staff, spread out in all major towns of Kenya. Approximately half of these are on short-term contract basis and are retained on the availability of work. However, for all intents and purposes, it is usual to have many of these short-term contractors staying for a year or more depending on the amount of work that has to be done.
