Green Power builds a sustainable, profitable and environmentally friendly biofuel production in Africa based on the principles of the Roundtable for Biofuels. It actively supports the development of rural areas and its inhabitants and promotes social projects in the areas. It uses water only in a sustainable way.
 
Focus is on the production of biofuel and complementary food production. The concept of integrated food and biofuels (ifbf) shortens the average seed to cash cycle and makes a significant contribution to the food supply of the host countries.
 
Greenpower is the first commercial biodiesel manufacturer in East Africa.
 
An oil & biodiesel processing unit had been active in the production of biodiesel and vegetable oil from 2006 to 2009 in Nairobi, Kenya.
 
In late 2007 the holding company Green Power Holding AG has been incorporated in Zürich, Switzerland. Green Power invites investors who want to participate in the expansion of its farms for the production of integrated food and biofuels.
 
Since 2008, Green Power grows Jatropha with food crops (soya, maize and cow peas) together with partners on a 2800ha-farm in Mozambique.
 
Green Power still expands and is looking for land in East and Southern Africa and invites interested farmers to join forces. The company looks for arable underutilised land for Jatropha for combined Jatropha and food production. Green Power signs long-term uptake agreements with outgrowers and commission farmers or their associations.
