GIBB Africa Ltd (formerly Sir Alexander Gibb & Partners, Africa) and associated companies have been involved in development projects in East and Central Africa since the early 1940s. Since then, the company has successfully completed over 1,000 consultancy assignments, covering a broad spectrum of sectors and specialisations.
 
GIBB Africa Ltd has its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya and has offices in:

In 1990, GIBB Africa Ltd was registered as a limited liability company in Kenya. The company has a majority local shareholding and it is managed and staffed by locals and other nationals qualified in a wide range of disciplines. The company forms associations with other indigenous and foreign firms as necessary to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
 
GIBB Africa Ltd is registered with a number of international funding agencies and organisations. These include the World Bank, African Development Bank, European Union, United Nations, BADEA, CIDA, DFID, DANIDA, IDA, KfW and SIDA.
 
GIBB has been responsible for the design and supervision of construction works to the value of over US$ 900 million in East Africa, Southern Africa and Middle Eastern countries. In addition, advisory services have been given for works to a further value of some US$ l, 500 million.
 
The Quality Management System of GIBB Africa Ltd was approved and certified to the International Standard ISO 9001:1994 in 1997 by Lloyd's. GIBB Africa Ltd was the first engineering consultancy in Kenya, and according to the Lloyd's Register of Quality Assurances, the first in Africa to achieve the approval and certification. Subsequently the company was audited by SGS who have assessed and certified that the GIBB Africa Ltd Quality Management System complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 Standard.
