Our Pillars
Education
Strategies for addressing climate change and sustainable development challenges can only succeed with the full engagement and awareness of the general public. Corporate Green Africa in corporation with partners enlightens and sensitizes individuals on the ways to ultimately adjust their activities in order to reduce their direct emissions and negative impacts on the environment. Corporate Green Africa promotes the development and implementation of educational and public awareness programmes, ensures stakeholders access to environmental information, public participation, and training to equip them with the right knowledge and skills that will enhance their capacity to support sustainable development. We therefore carry out seminars, training workshops , and media and out reach programmes to facilitate this course.
Energy
Alternative Energy can be defined as; ""energy fuelled in ways that do not use up natural resources or harm the environment"". Technology is propelling our growth and dictating our life styles. Our focus is on alternative technologies and energy that improve our chances of finding, developing and embracing a better way of living. Our partnerships, investments and support is inclined towards the development of renewable eco-friendly energy resources and bio-fuels such as Jatropha curcas.
Sports
Corporate Green Africa uses sports as a platform to get communities together, especially the youth to educate them on a broad range of environmental issues. Our sporting activities also provide a podium through which sports federations, sporting goods manufacturers, events producers and sports enthusiasts and other interested stakeholders can exercise their roles and participate in increasing environmental action and awareness. To help promote this cause we encourage corporates and individual entities to participate in our annual ""Tree Planting Sports Day"". Nothing brings people together like sports, it healthy, it's fun and exciting!
Sustainable Development
At the core of Corporate Green Africa vision is sustainable development. Simply put, development that is not sustainable is not development. Corporate Green Africa aims to provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling people to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations. The Brundtland Commisionbriefly defines sustainable development as "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs". The "environment" is where we live; and development is what we all do in attempting to improve our lot within that abode. The two are inseparable. It is important to keep in mind that the environment does not exist as a sphere separate from human actions, ambitions and needs.
Here at Corporate Green Africa we believe that environmentalism is not charity but it is the obligation of every person to give back what he takes from the earth!
