Legodimo Trust is located in Otse, Botswana. Legodimo offers vocational training and social support to teenagers with mental and physical disabilities aged 14 to 21 and offers employment to people from Otse. The project is divided into a number of workshops and activities.
WORKSHOPS/ACTVITIES
The work shops where the students receive their vocational training include a day care center, a poultry and pig farm, vegetable garden, general store, an orchard, a tea garden and a craft shop.
Furthermore class room activities are provided where the students learn daily living skills. The skills will help them integrate in to society in their villages.
The workshop/activities provide good therapeutic and educational tasks for the students in a protecting and caring environment. Furthermore these workshops generate an income that covers some of the cost of running the project.
RESPONSIBLE ORGAIZATION -THE LEGODIMO TRUST
the project is administrated by the Legodimo trust and is registered in Botswana as a charity which looks after the well being of disabled teenagers. Legodimo was founded in July 1996.
The legodimo trust is strongly affiliated with the Camphill Community Trust which looks after the interests of the Camphill School Rankoromane residential school for mentally and physically disabled children and the Camphill Community Motse Wa Badiri. Both situated in Otse
Legodimo is an active member of the Botswana Council for the Disabled that is the umbrella body to all NGO's in Botswana prociding services to people with disabilities.
