Southern Africa Federation of the Disabled (SAFOD)
The Southern Africa Federation of the Disabled is a non-governmental human rights organisation founded in 1986 in Zimbabwe by disabled people for disabled people as an umbrella organisation for the national Disabled People's Organisations in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC).
To strengthen Disabled People's Organisations in SAFOD member countries through training, research, coordination, information sharing, promotion of human rights and adoption of appropriate strategies for stimulating people with disabilities to enhance their economic, political and social development.
