Federation of Organisations of Disabled Persons in Zimbabwe (FODPZ)
Mission Statement To organize and adopt strategies on cross cutting issues such as research, information and capacity building in order to enable Disabled Peoples Organizations (DPOs) to take a lead in addressing issues of advocacy and lobbying on any level of the Zimbabwean society.
Objectives
To facilitate the collaboration, networking and voluntary coordination of the activities of organisations of disabled persons in Zimbabwe, with the aim to enhance through capacity building, the effectiveness of advocacy and lobbying efforts directed at improving the life of persons with disabilities;
To provide a common forum for the exchange of information and advice on all matters affecting the organisations;
To cooperate with any similar organisation;
To raise funds for the purpose of the Federation;
To collect and disseminate information on all matters affecting the Federation and exchange such information with other bodies having similar objects whether in Zimbabwe or abroad;
To take cognisance of all existing and prospective by-laws, policies and legislation, including all statutory instruments, assess and evaluate their likely impact on disabled people, take a considered position and advocate on them with the aim to represent and secure the best interests of disabled people
