Fambidzanai came into being in 1988 and it is a registered trading trust private limited (No 87/18 )that is governed by a Board of trustees. Fambidzanai has been at the forefront of development organisations promoting food security through sustainable land use management (Permaculture) in Zimbabwe. It is one of the oldest Permaculture centers in Africa. The centre has fostered the creation of four other development institutions namely, the natural farming Network (NFN), the schools and colleges Permaculture (SCOPE), Permaculture Ecological Land use Management (PELUM).Since its inception the centre has paved the path for food security through sustainable land use management. Our development intervention is characterized by skills training in sustainable methodologies, organic farming demonstrations, and participatory rural appraisal, and creating marketing opportunities for organic produce. Our centre is at the forefront of demonstrating the viability of Permaculture.
