Over the last decade, Zimbabwe has shifted from being one of Africa's economic powerhouses to being a country where people struggle to make a living, provide their children with an education, and receive quality health care. In February 2009, the main political parties formed an inclusive government. Since then, reforms have returned some degree of normalcy to everyday life. These improvements, while modest, are bringing new hope to Zimbabweans. Catholic Relief Services works with a range of partners, including the Catholic Church, to help Zimbabwe recover from crisis and rebuild its strength.
