Objectives
The HIV/AIDS problem continues to have a devastating effect on Zambia. Official statistics estimate that more than 16 percent of adults in the general population are infected with the virus. Aside from the personal tragedy, the implication for health care costs and general economic growth of Zambia are such that the HIV/AIDS pandemic presents the single most challenge in man's struggle for survival.
We hold that it is important to support the three main HIV/AIDS prevention strategies, namely, Public Education and HIV prevention such as abstinence; treatment and prevention of other Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD's) – that if untreated, may facilitate the transmission of AIDS; and the promotion of condom use.
