Here at the Livingstone Safari Lodge you will relax in the knowledge that by staying with us you will be helping the local community. As part of the community support ethos students from the local Catholic Diocese help in the preparation of meals as the practical part of their studies. To provide the best integrated Lodge & Campsite in the region To ensure our well trained staff always puts your safety first To make a difference to people's lives by contributing to the local economy To use a portion of all income generated to sponsor orphans and local children's education We strive to be as eco-friendly as possible in the building and running of our facilities. The thatching grass used for our lodge, chalets and cabins is harvested by hand by local woman and in this manner three small villages generate income. The aggregate used at various locations at the Livingstone Safari Lodge is broken up by hand by local people called the Flintstones. Large boulders are collected by hand cart and moved to family areas where the whole family breaks these large boulders into usable smaller pieces. All building blocks are made by hand on the property and no energy consuming machines are used. Electricity used at Livingstone Safari Lodge is from hydro-electrical power generating stations.
