Uganda Water and Sanitation NGO Network (UWASNET) is the national umbrella organisation for Civil Society Organisations (CSO's) in the Water and Enviroment sector. It was established in 2000 to strengthen the contribution of the CSO's to the performance and developement of the sector.UWASNET is crucial in helping government realise its targets of alleviating poverty and achieving Mellinium Developement Goals (MDG's) through universal acess to safe, sustainable water and improved Sanitation. UWASNET plays this vital role in partnership with other key sector players such as Government, Developement Partners (DP's) and the private sector.membership to UWASNET currently stands at 187. UWASNET promotes collaboration, networking and information sharing among members the government, developement partners as well as other stakeholders in and out of the sector. the value of vibrant and well informed Civil Society Organisations has been a critical factor to the sucess of UWASNET;s work. UWASNET continues to ensure that it strengthens collaboration and networking and sharing of sector relevant information and practices among its members at various levels.
