One of the main activities MIFUMI is undertaking to achieve the above objectives is engagement in Fair trade. To this side the organization is in the process of setting up a sim sim / ground nut paste processing plant.
 
The concept is simple: Encourage women to grow sim sim or ground nuts as outgrowers. Buy it from them at a fair price, above capitalistic on-going market prices. Processing, package and sell for a profit. Encourage the outgrowers to buy shares in the processing plant, so they are suppliers, but partners in business.
