CECOD promotes Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) through schools; targeting all social groups for a common and sustainable future. CECOD aims to:
 
[1] Develop a self sustaining national organization to address environmental and poverty issues in the country by 2015.
[2] Improve utilization of natural resources among local communities and increase house hold income through education.
 
[3] Promote people centered advocacy initiatives in the region and enhance people's engagement of duty bearers on environmental rights and other related development issues that affect them.
