Network for Water and Sanitation (Netwas Tanzania)
Netwas International is currently undertaking a training and capacity building in eleven towns around Lake Victoria in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. The training and capacity building (TCB) programme, financed by UNHABITAT, was part of the LVWATSAN Initiative. The TCB programme comprised of five (5) thematic areas: Utility Management; Urban Catchment Management; Pro-Poor Governance; Local Economic Development; Gender Mainstreaming and Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups The training was conducted around the lake victoria region in the starred towns below Training and Capacity Building in lake victoria The training and capacity building programme in 11 towns around Lake Victoria was delivered by the Netwas Team in partnership with UNHABITAT and a consortium of four (4) international partners, that is UNESCO-Institute for Water Education (UNESCO-IHE), Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), the Gender Water Alliance (GWA) and The Netherlands Development Organization (SNV). The 11 towns were Bukoba, Muleba, Bunda and Mutukula in Tanzania; Bugembe, Masaka, Kyotera and Mutukula in Uganda; and Kisii, Homa Bay and Bondo in Kenya.
