At a district level Chamavita co-operates with the local district authorities. The organisation was established to promote socio-economic development in the rurul areas of East and West Usambara mountains in Tanga region. Chamavita covers a range of development activities in rural development which includes organising individuals and groups in starting up small-scale projects to raise living standards.
