Meadowsweet is run by Elma Nel and owned by her and Antonio Rivera. The idea to develop the range of Meadowsweet products had its inception whilst Elma was married to Antonio Rivera who is a trailblazer in the field of organic farming. Antonio certified as South Africa's very first organic farmer. The original Meadowsweet farm has since been sold but the organic herbs used in some of the products still comes from the same farm, now called Innesfree Ridge.
 
Elma is fully involved in the managing of Meadowsweet as well as developing the Meadowsweet product range. Intensive research has been done by Elma into the pure essentials range. She has designed and perfected the formulations to their current natural luxurious quality.
 
With a company ethos centred on Truth, Beauty and Goodness, Meadowsweet's products have been tried and tested on people only! Loads of research has gone into every single ingredient and each ingredient plays an active role in the truly therapeutic qualities of the products.
 
Truly therapeutic means that each product is not only rich and luxurious but also has a herbal healing quality through the correct dosage of pure essential oils that is used. All products are manufactured and packaged in our small factory in Gansbaai. Meadowsweet generates employment for the people who live in the vicinity. We consider our employees to be an integral part of the Meadowsweet family. Our Ethos is also to improve the Quality of Life of all people who come into contact with ourselves and our products, whether they are the factory workers, owners, managers or those of you who benefit from using the final products.
