Seven generations of our family have lived on this farm. Growing grapes since the late 1920's Bon Cap Organic Wine Cellar produced its first wines in 2002, the same year the farm received full organic status.
Sustainable farming is a worldwide concern among people who care about the health of their families and the environment. One solution to the problem is organic farming. Organic crops are grown in harmony with nature and strict international regulations prohibit the use of any chemical products such as pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, weed killers, etc.
Our family has been farming organically for years; from the start we could see the benefit to the soil. In 1999, Bon Cap decided to apply for international certification and received full organic status from SGS in 2002. When buying produce that claims to be organic, ensure that it has organic certification by looking for the organic logo and registration number on the product. Certification guarantees that the farm and products are monitored and audited by the certifying companies on an annual basis.
