Shop4Rwanda is the charity's retail outlet for the crafts that former street children make as part of their vocational skills classes at Centre Marembo in Kigali, Rwanda. This is where dedicated staff help turn homeless children's lives around by taking them off the streets and bringing them into a secure, loving and mutually respectful environment. Through the teaching of vocational skills such as tailoring, weaving and car mechanics, the children can leave the project with a strong understanding of the job market and the potential to create an income for themselves.
As more and more children come through our doors looking for a way out of poverty, exploitation and life on the streets, so the shop4rwanda project grows. Exciting new crafts are now constantly being added to the shop, which in turn generates money that helps sustain the charity's projects on the ground in Rwanda.
By making a purchase at Shop4Rwanda you are making a conscious contribution to reducing the suffering of others; lifting the young people of Kigali out of poverty and actively participating in – trade not aid!
